Flying Ahead - Seven Squared wins BA business

19 August 2008

British Airways has appointed Seven Squared to produce five of its internal publications.

The collective portfolio will reach thousands of people worldwide, performing a critical role in keeping a phenomenal number of BA employees, both current and retired, well informed of developments relevant to them.

The flagship publication is the airline’s weekly tabloid newspaper BA News, which has a print run of 44,000.

Leading Edge, In Touch and Pit Stop are each highly focused to communicate to specialised sectors of BA’s workforce, broadcasting engineering and safety features to staff across the globe. Touchdown is the publication for BA’s retired staff community.

Seven Squared won the account following a competitive pitch against other prominent agencies that have not been publicly disclosed.

The agency will be conducting research into the current formats before developing the publications further with the aim of improving the overall dialogue between BA and it’s staff.

Both BA News and Touchdown feature advertising space in each issue.

Sean King, Chief Executive of Seven Squared, said, “It’s a real privilege to be working with a global brand such as British Airways. The company is eager to reinvigorate its internal communications publications and we’re excited about taking on this challenge.”

He added: “Seven Squared already counts RAC, First TransPennine Express and First Great Western among its extensive portfolio of clients and now we’ve won BA’s business so you could say we’ve got planes, trains and automobiles.”
