Sir Paul McCartney interview launches new-look Sainsbury's Magazine

03 September 2008

An exclusive Sir Paul McCartney interview launches the new-look Sainsbury's Magazine. Sir Paul's plea for us all to go veggie to save the planet is a highlight of the October issue, on sale September 3, 2008. He talks about the trials of being a modern parent,  why he and daughters Stella and Mary have revived his late wife Linda's food business (feature includes pictures of him on the production line) why he's been writing to Gordon Brown and hits back at Gordon Ramsay's view of vegetarians.

The revamp comes after the UK's number one customer magazine celebrated its first 15 years with a sell-out special issue in May. "We're looking to the next 15 years and have made the magazine even better after talking to readers up and down the country," says editor Sue Robinson. "All their favourites –  including Nigel Slater, Jamie Oliver and Simon Hopkinson – are still there but we've refreshed the look, changed the format and made the magazine even easier to use. They told us they, like everyone else, are feeling the pinch so we've responded with a brand new section of time and money saving recipes. Beating the credit crunch never tasted so good!"

The key changes are:
Everyday Easy - 15 pages of recipes and ideas that are easy on the purse and the cook, including cheats, using leftovers and freezing ahead

Best Life – a new lifestyle section helping readers to look and feel their best with inspiration and advice on everything from health and  beauty to  fashion, nutrition and emotional wellbeing. Expert contributors include Dr Mark Porter, nutritionist Amanda Ursell and award-winning beauty writer Jo Fairley

The big feature– an in-depth look at issues relevant to readers' lives. In October: What's keeping us awake? How to beat the  insomnia epidemic and what our dreams really mean
